Famed for the production of cheese, salt and silk, Cheshire’s county seat is in Chester, known as one of the most beautiful cities in the UK, with its history dating back to Roman times, where it was originally founded as a fortress in the 1st century A.D. Noted for its vast array of historic monuments, as well as Romans it was also occupied by Vikings and Saxons.
Cheshire is an extremely popular place to live and work, and as such is home to almost 925k people. The pretty properties made of half-timber and red sandstone have stood the test of time, but due to their age and composition, are not the most energy-efficient. As a result, owners and residents could be wasting hundreds of pounds a year in lost heating costs, as well as increasing their carbon emissions from ineffective heating solutions.
