Serving in Bolton
Bolton is one of the largest towns in Europe, and boomed during the 19th century, culminating in 216 cotton mills by 1929, making it one of the largest and most productive centres of cotton spinning in the world.
As well as its proud industrial heritage, it is also famous for being the birth place of much loved comic Peter Kay and star of the silver screen, Sir Ian McKellen, the home town of world champion boxer Amir Khan, and as being the town where the Reebok sports brand was born in 1890, then known as J.W. Foster and Sons.
With a population of more than 260,000, it is the biggest town in the UK. Bordered by the beautiful West Pennine Moors, its properties can range from industrial-age terraces to remote farmhouses and barn conversions, each built to weather plenty of storms, but not necessarily to be the most energy-efficient.
